We support Kenyan students across business, technology, healthcare and the skilled trades — most of them women, and many from low-income and rural communities.

Will I pay the exact amount that I was funded? Is there interest?

No, the student does not necessarily repay the exact amount funded and no, there is no interest charged on the principal amount. The ISA funding is structured differently to a loan. Instead of paying interest on the principal amount, the students pay a fixed percentage of their net income or a flat rate over a defined repayment period. For low-earners or those that are unemployed, this may mean that they repay less than the exact amount funded. For high-earners, this means they may repay more than the exact amount funded but with limits on repayment amounts.
